Our Founder, Scott Martel:
Pro Experts Painting specializes in
high- end historical home restorations and architectural paint projects.
Scott studied the trade in the UNESCO
heritage town of Lunenburg
 Nova Scotia,
where he developed a passion for beautifully detailed architecture.
While completing a degree in microbiology at
Dalhousie University, Scott operated his first successful
painting company, Student Picasso Painting,
which specialized in the highly detailed painting most companies shy away
from. Upon graduation, he parlayed his summer earnings into a very
successful retail store selling sports memorabilia, comic books, games and
collectables in Bridgewater, NS.
The business rapidly expanded to include wholesale distribution and a second
location.
Eventually, Scott’s creative flair beckoned him to return to his craft of
choice -- painting. He sold his operation, reinvested into painting and
moved back to Halifax. For a short time, he worked for almost every paint
contractor in H.R.M. During this period, he was discontented with the
overall service to clients in the area. Pro Experts Painting was born soon
after.
Pro Experts has been growing successfully since 1996. As Scott puts it:” I
have an eye for detail and take great pride in my work. I feel the key to my
success is that I truly love what I do. To be able to restore a historical
landmark or beautify a client’s home brings me great pleasure. I am always
willing to go that extra mile to ensure top quality and see a smile on the
clients face. “ Scott has solid hands-on experience with all old methods of
painting, but he is always enthusiastic and quick to study new techniques
and products before recommending them to his customers.
